Projects can be submitted to 'Guadalajara Construye', the Works In Progress call of the Guadalajara Festival, until 27 November

Guadalajara Construye 21. Works In Progress, the initiative of the Guadalajara International Film Festival that contributes to the completion of Ibero-American fiction feature films in the post-production stage, reminds that its call for applications will remain open until Friday 27 November at 23:59 hours, Mexico City time (GMT–6).

Up to seven projects in the post-production phase and seeking financing for their completion will be presented to accredited professionals in the industry area of the 42nd edition of FICG 2027: producers, distributors, sales agents, service companies, support funds and representatives of festivals with the possibility of contributing to the completion of the films and their subsequent exhibition.

The 42nd edition of FICG will be held from 6 to 13 March 2027.

Fiction feature film projects selected for Guadalajara Construye 21. Works In Progress will obtain:

  • The possibility of a screening within the framework of the FICG42 industry activities.
  • The publication of the project information in the Industry Catalogue.
  • The possibility of three nights of lodging (one double room per project).
  • Free Industry Accreditation for two representatives of the participating feature film.

Participation in Guadalajara Construye 21 is free of charge. Travel expenses to Guadalajara and meals shall be borne by the production companies and/or representatives of the participating films.

Among the projects selected for previous editions of Guadalajara Construye we can mention, for example, Matarifes (Slaughterers), by the Uruguayan brothers Bernardo and Rafael Antonaccio, a co-production of Uruguay, Argentina and Spain that received Ibermedia stimulus funds on two occasions: for Ibero-American film co-development in our 2018 call for applications and for co-production in our 2023 call for applications, or Aquí hay dragones (Here Be Dragons), by the Mexican director Iria Gómez Concheiro, which received Ibermedia co-production funds in our 2021 call for applications.
