DFFF and GMPF close application acceptance for 2026 – submission start for 2027 in preparation

Significantly increased demand this year has led to record numbers of applications. The application volume available for 2026 under the DFFF and GMPF is now exhausted. This means that a historic maximum sum of funding for production incentives is being claimed by the film industry.

Within just over a week of the announcement of the application cap, the remaining available application volume of EUR 30m was reached. During this period, a total of 13 applications were received, including ten applications for feature films and documentaries under DFFF I and three applications for two fiction series and one docuseries under the GMPF.

Further applications for projects starting principal photography in 2026 can no longer be accepted. Submissions for projects starting principal photography in 2027 are expected to open via the FFA service portal from November.
