Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Film Fund Luxembourg and the Korean Film Council
Film Fund Luxembourg and the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing cooperation between Luxembourg and the Republic of Korea in the fields of film and the audiovisual sector.
The signing of this agreement takes place during a professional mission organised by Film Fund Luxembourg to South Korea and Japan, accompanied by the Minister of Culture Eric Thill and a delegation of representatives from the Luxembourg audiovisual sector. This trip aims in particular to strengthen ties between creative industry players in both countries and to encourage the emergence of new initiatives in the fields of film, animation and audiovisual content.
The memorandum establishes a cooperation framework designed to promote exchanges between Luxembourg and Korean professionals, as well as to encourage new partnership opportunities. Specifically, it provides for the sharing of expertise, professional meetings and the exploration of joint projects, particularly in the field of co-production. Through this agreement, the two institutions wish to contribute to the international reach of their respective industries and support the emergence of new partnerships between players in both countries.
Projects such as the feature film Dora by filmmaker July Jung, co-produced with Luxembourg, illustrate the prospects for cooperation between professionals from both countries.
On this occasion, Guy Daleiden, head of Film Fund Luxembourg, stated:
"As part of this mission, we have been able to witness the richness of the Korean creative ecosystem and the mutual interest in developing new exchanges. This new agreement offers us a privileged framework to explore cooperation opportunities between our two industries and to foster the emergence of future initiatives and joint projects."
