Announcement of the winners of the 2026 Writer Career Support Scheme (Aide au parcours d'auteurices)
As part of its policy to structure professional career paths in film and audiovisual media, the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine is creating a dedicated support scheme entitled "Aide au parcours", aimed at experienced writers and writer-directors from Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The regional "Aide au parcours d'auteurices" scheme provides €12,000 in funding and personalised support over two years.
Writing careers are often built amidst significant income irregularity and all too often precariousness. By acknowledging this reality, the scheme aims to protect the long timeframe of creation, which is an essential condition for the emergence of unique works. The Career Support scheme encourages artistic risk-taking, the exploration of new forms, research or documentation work, as well as the experimentation with innovative writing or production methods—all dimensions that are vital for the renewal of regional creation. By combining financial backing with tailored support, the Region intends to sustainably strengthen writers' career trajectories and contribute to the region's artistic vitality.
ALCA will shortly publish portraits of the five artists and will document this long-term support.
