São Paulo City Hall offers R$ 52,000 for audiovisual businesses

5th edition of Amplifica Cine will select up to 25 businesses

Production companies for film, series, digital content, podcasts and animation, as well as distributors, agencies and technology and data companies for the audiovisual sector can apply for the 5th edition of Amplifica Cine, a programme by São Paulo City Hall that offers financial support of R$ 52,000, mentoring and workshops to build personalised development plans for 25 selected businesses. Applications are open until 23 August 2026 via the website adesampa.com.br/amplificacine.

The programme focuses on boosting operating businesses and seeks to increase their sustainability, profitability and scale, contributing to the strengthening of the creative economy in the city. Some entrepreneurs who participated in previous editions demonstrate the programme's potential for impact. This is the case of Histórias de Ter.A.Pia, which has over 1.5 million followers on the profile @historiasdeterapia and is one of the largest Brazilian everyday storytelling channels, narrated while people wash dishes. Lucas da Silva Galdino, creator of the project, explains that the proposal is to transform personal narratives into audiovisual products with social and cultural impact.

Another participant in the latest edition of the training was Instituto AfroRec, which has expanded access for Black, indigenous and peripheral communities to the audiovisual market, with technical training and practical experience on film sets, impacting thousands of participants across the country. Also during the programme, they launched their expansion into the holding company Grupo Nexa Cine, integrating four companies, Nexa Tech, Nexa Eventos, Nexa Estúdios and the origin of it all, Instituto AfroRec, using the funding amount to structure the group's new operational branches.

To participate in the 2026 edition of Amplifica Cine, businesses must consist of at least two people over the age of 18, residing in the municipality of São Paulo for at least two years. The programme's financial resources can be used to purchase equipment, hire specialised services, marketing, among other business needs. Programme participants also receive specialised consultancy for pitch improvement and opportunities for insertion in events and connection with national and international market players.

The programme is run by ADE SAMPA in partnership with Spcine, linked respectively to the Municipal Secretariats for Economic Development and Labour and for Culture and Creative Economy.
