Posted: 13th October 2026
Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland is delighted to open its call for applications for Irish industry professionals who wish to take part in Rotterdam Lab at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) 2027. For the first time, Screen Ireland will be supporting one emerging producer and one creator (director or writer/director) to attend the annual training workshop.
Screen Ireland is offering these two participants the opportunity to take part in the Lab from 30th January - 3rd February 2027, with six nights' accommodation, breakfast, participation in the Rotterdam Lab Programme or Creators Lab and CineMart accreditation included. Accreditation entitles the participant to attend all screenings and significant events.
Each year, the Rotterdam Lab hosts more than 70 producers and creators nominated by partner organisations from around the world. The purpose is to offer emerging professionals the means to build and develop their network, providing confidence, tools and skills to navigate the world of international film financing, production, sales, marketing, festivals and distribution.
Note: The Rotterdam Lab is not project-based. However, producers and creators are encouraged to bring a project in active development to make the most of the networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Candidates should be emerging producers from Ireland who have produced at least one or two short films, and not more than two feature films. Producers who have taken part in the Lab previously are not eligible.
Interested applicants must apply by filling the appropriate application form below. Applicants will be required to supply a short bio, company profile, and short statement of motivation and rationale for attending.
Candidates should be filmmakers (directors or writer/directors) who have shown strong artistic potential through standout short films with international circulation or a completed debut feature. Applicants should not have directed more than two feature films.
This strand supports creators ready to take the next step toward global visibility, stronger partnerships, and greater agency in the international film industry.
