Call for applications open for Historias Breves 2026 – Drama

We are launching a new edition of Historias Breves, the competition that since 1995 has supported the first steps of directors entering national cinema. This time we are focusing on drama: we are looking for fiction short films that address those family, romantic, historical or deeply human stories that need to be told.

Directors from all over the country may participate with original projects, with no prior industry experience required.

Registration is open from 00:00 hours on 21 August until 14:00 hours on 25 September 2026.

Awards

• 6 winning projects will be selected.
• Value of each prize: USD 35,000 (paid in pesos, at the Banco Nación exchange rate).
• Payment is made in two instalments: 80% upon contract signature, and the remaining 20% when the A Print is approved.

Those wishing to apply can consult the rules and conditions.

Let us keep growing the Argentine creative industry.
