German language requirement and German/European production company participation

Overview

FFA Projektfilmförderung provides conditional repayable loans to German producers for cinema projects and international co-productions of at least 79 minutes (59 minutes for children's films). The maximum funding amount is 1 million EUR.

Eligible formats

Eligibility

German producers with company registered in Germany. Films must be largely shot or dubbed in German language. German/European studios and post-production companies must participate. Premiere must be in German cinema or as German entry at international festival. Barrier-free version required. Ecological standards compliance required since 2023.
