New interim financing programme for the refundable tax credit for Québec film and television production – Direct Loan

La Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) informs you of the implementation of the new interim financing programme for the refundable tax credit for Québec film and television production – Direct Loan, which will come into force on 28 September next.

This programme was created to support the Québec audiovisual industry by offering interim financing at a rate lower than the market rate. It makes it possible to finance, in the form of a direct loan, up to 95% of the anticipated refundable tax credit for Québec film and television production for a production.

To be eligible for the programme, the company must have obtained a favourable advance ruling from SODEC under the refundable tax credit for Québec film and television production.

Forming part of the measures of the Stratégie québécoise de l’audiovisuel (Québec Audiovisual Strategy) aimed at reducing the financing costs of audiovisual productions and strengthening content creation and production, the programme has benefited from an envelope of $100M from the Ministère des Finances du Québec (Ministry of Finance of Québec) for its implementation.
